Olympics

  • Jocelyne Lamoureux’s iconic shootout goal at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games to give the United States their first gold medal at the tournament since the inaugural 1998 tournament is immortalised with her stick on display
  • The ‘Lucky Loonie’ was discovered by the Canadian Women’s Team after they captured their first Olympic gold medal at the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City, USA
  • Caroline Ouellette was Canada’s captain in 2014, and one of the jerseys she wore on the road to gold is proudly on display
  • In 2002, Honoured Member and longtime USA captain Cammi Granato was part of the torch relay transporting the Olympic flame to Salt Lake City. Her torch and track suit are special additions to the World of Hockey exhibit
  • Honoured Member Riikka Sallinen’s (née Nieminen) jersey from the 1998 Games currently hangs in the New Inductee Showcase outside of Spirit of Hockey. She led the tournament with 12 points in six games, leading Finland to the first-ever Olympic bronze medal for Women’s Ice Hockey

World Championships

  • Visit the IIHF Year In Review display to find incredible items from more recent IIHF tournaments, including Marie-Philip Poulin’s OT gold medal winning goal stick, Hilary Knight’s jersey and Alina Muller’s helmet
  • Be on the lookout for Manon Rhéaume’s Canada mask in The Mask presented by Import Dragons worn from 1992-94
  • Check out the different coloured jerseys including Jayna Hefford’s yellow-accented Canada jersey for cancer awareness and Angela James’ pink Canada sweater. The colour was used to create buzz for the first IIHF-sanctioned World Championship.

League Play

  • The Clarkson Cup, championship trophy of the now defunct Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL), features incredible Inuit artwork. The Cup was commissioned by Governor General Adrienne Clarkson, marking the second time a Governor General of Canada had commissioned a top-level hockey trophy
  • Be on the lookout for many jerseys from the Central Ontario Women’s Hockey League (COWHL), the original National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) and the Western Women’s Hockey League (WWHL), and jerseys of independent teams worn by superstars like Cassie Campbell, Julie Chu, and Honoured Members Angela James and Geraldine Heaney.
  • Don’t sleep on U Sports (formally the CIS) and NCAA - they’re where the next stars are playing! Check out pieces like Honoured Member Cammi Granato’s Concordia Stingers jersey, Julie Chu’s stick used at Harvard and helmet worn by Hilary Knight at the University of Wisconsin
  • In The Mask presented by Imports Dragon, discover Lesley Reddon’s mask worn from 1989-96
